Chapter 482 – “She will need to figure that out on her own.” (2)
A week later, when Gu Shishi went for her checkup, she again received the latest news from her melon-eating group –
Gu Wushuang brought the recording with her to play it to Gu Jiangxin, who had his IV in, in person.
And not just one recording. She had several of them.
In fact, she said as smart phones were popular at the time, she had taken a lot of pictures and videos for the fun of it and many of them were of her family meeting with the government offices in private.
Gu Jiangxin wasn’t the only one in them, even Mother Gu was in some of them. She also sent Gu Jiangxin to the ICU for the second time.
Huo Wencheng even had a lawyer went over and explain to Gu Jiangxin how the court cases would go and how many years of sentence would he be facing should the evidences ever came to light.
As there were high dollar amount of transactions on land behind these gift exchanges, and that Gu Jiangxin had been committing bribery for many years. There was almost no chance he could escape a harsh sentencing.
With the bombardments coming from the both of them, Gu Jiangxin didn’t even know what to say anymore......
The lawyer visited the patient room again two days later. This time to witness the transfer of power.
What he had worked for for most of his life turned into someone else’s just like that.
“Gu Wushuang, that poisonous little flower, is pretty smart. She knew not to push someone too far. She didn’t take away all of Gu Jiangxin shares but left him with 20%. Throw in those old founders, he probably had around 35% give or take. Still some authority around the company.”
Qin Ruhai bobbed his head back and forth.
“That way he will still have something left to pass onto his son in the future. All in all, they had reached an understanding.”
“So Gu Wushuang deleted the recordings?” asked Gu Shishi curiously with her brows raised as she was enjoying her post-checkup breakfast.
Qin Ruhai smiled. “It was said that everything was deleted right then and there and even the cellphone was smashed into pieces.”
Gu Shishi nodded.
Most likely the little poisonous flower had a copy saved somewhere. Just in case Gu Jiangxin had the energy to fight her again after he had recovered.
Gu Jiangxin mostly likely was aware of that as well.
It was just that neither one of them said that out loud.
What Gu Wushuang wanted was the Gu Corporation that was not devalued. Naturally it did not befit her to expose the evidences of Gu Jiangxin’s crimes.
As for Gu Jiangxin, he didn’t want to go to jail and also wanted to retain a portion of his fortune. If he was to be left penniless, he would probably rather go down with Gu Wushuang than handing everything over to her.
“That might be the case but Gu Jiangxin is not healthy enough to work. He needs a long time off to rest so he is out of the management one way or another. He’d have to let Gu Wushuang have her ways for at least the next 3 to 6 months.”
Having said that, Qin Ruhai winked at Huo Sishen.
Huo Sishen removed his suit slowly and placed it on the chair next to him. Unbuttoning his shirt sleeves, he slowly rolled them half way up his lower arm before he disinfected his hands carefully with the hand sanitizer handed over by Siyi.
As though he didn’t notice the look from Qin Ruhai, he picked up a hard-boiled egg in Gu Shishi’s tray after he was done disinfecting his hands.
He carefully peeled it until there was only a little bit of the soft shell left for her to hold before he put it back into her tray.
His action had, once again, brought about a lot of “oh shoot” in Qin Ruhai.
“Shoot!”
The big demon king had somehow picked up all these girl-pleasing tricks!
He turned to look at Gu Shishi and noticed the sweet smile on her, her cheeks glowing, and her limpid eyes lit. All of her attention was on the big demon king. She looked nothing like that audience who was focused on his gossip just a minute ago!
“Ahem! Ahem! Ahem!”
Qin Ruhai was disgruntled.
“Are you guys listening to me?”
What he got in return was a cold look from Huo Sishen and the entire table was moved backward.
“Don’t spit.”
