With a frown on his face, Lucian made his way over and knelt in front of them. “There’s something I’ve been

meaning to ask you two… Why are you two helping me?” he asked after a brief moment of hesitation.

Archie and Benny exchanged glances before breathing sighs of relief.

“That’s because you treat Mommy and Essie really well!” Benny said in the sweetest voice possible.

Lucian glared at the two of them in an attempt to determine if they were telling the truth.
