Carrie's Crush Chapter 5

"Dear Dawn, I don't think I have ever been so frustrated in my entire life, I mean how can one person,
frustrate me so much, and I haven't even met him yet. He messed up everything I had to leave classes
two and go search for him. It is so annoying. And on my birthday too." I write down annoyed. It was
already lunch, I still couldn't find this Joseph Wilson character, it should not be so hard to find him, I
knew everyone who attended Brook High School, I knew all the corners, so I don't understand how he
has successfully evaded me, many times. I missed half of Miss Pearl's class by the time I came back. I
looked everywhere, trying to find him, but it was almost like he didn't want to be found. I searched high
and low, trying to search for someone whose face I have never seen, only his name I heard of. And
what kind of name was Joseph Wilson anyway, stupid name, and stupid person.

I returned to class almost half an hour later, hoping he had come back, and somehow no body had
come to find me to come back to the classroom, for he had come back. When I went back, my eyes
found Miss Pearl's own, and I communicated through eye contact that I didn't find him. She just nodded
softly and I went back to my seat. Luckily, I had already read that topic, so I was not lost. But my eyes
always strayed to the door, hoping to see a stranger with the stranger name, Joseph Wilson. The bell
rang loudly, signifying the end of the class, and no sign of the stranger. I sighed heavily. Packing up my
stuff, I walk like the world was on my shoulders.

"He isn't dead you know" Sophie remarked.

"Yeah he isn't, but I didn't give him the tour on time, what if he got lost and got into trouble? I neglected
my presidential duties." I say feeling down.

"Okay, wow, you over think stuff, first of this Joseph, is an adult, therefore accountable for his own
actions, second before being a prez, you were a student, so stop blaming yourself." Andrina tells me
sternly, in that big sister tone she uses with me. I smile at her and nod.

That happened before we got to the cafeteria for lunch. Even after Andrina's pep talk, I was worried
about him, where would a new student be by this time if not on school grounds?

"What was he like?" I asked my friends before sipping my strawberry milkshake.

"Are you still bothered about him?" Sophie asked finally looking away from her phone.

"Of course I am, what if he was kidnapped?" I asked suddenly panicking. What if he was helpless right
now. Tied and stored away in a dark place.

They both burst out laughing. I looked at them weird, this was serious.

"Wait, you really are serious." Sophie said looking at me carefully. I removed my glasses and placed it
neatly on the table, massaging my temples because I didn't have the mental strength to answer my
friends. I had so much on my plate.

"Just tell me what he was like, maybe we can find him.. I don't want him to end up missing." I say
sincerely.

They looked like they pitied me before answering.

"He looked.. cold." Andrina thought for a while before answering. I blinked confused.

"Cold?" I asked.

"Yeah, complete with the scowl and terrible frown. He just breezed past everyone, didn't even talk to
those who offered to be friends with him." Sophie answered. She shrugged absent mindedly.

Well, that cancelled my imaginations about him being scared and alone in a corner. But who said cold
looking people were not scared, I was not one to judge a book by its cover, why should he be any
different.

"So cold, what else did you notice?" I asked, willingly to know more about this new student who found
joy in frustrating me whether intentionally or not.

"Nothing else, just the fact that he didn't smile or anything, and yeah I just remembered, he wore grey."
Andrina added.

I gave her a flat, "really?" Look, she shrugged, I sighed. Come to think of it, I crossed paths with this
guy, he was the one that broke their concentration. I remember correctly, I stood up really fast as the
new information settled in my head.

"Woah, don't tell me you have lost your mind over this." Sophie said giving me a weird look.

"I think it was him I saw earlier, he rushed past us before we got into the class." I tell them. Then I didn't
pay any attention to it, because I didn't want think about it at all.

"Really, what are going to do with the information anyway?" Andrina asked with a confused expression.

"The way he walked, he seemed really angry, maybe someone bullied him?" I asked suddenly alarmed.
When I became president, I put an anti bullying program in place, making sure it ran smoothly and no
student, no matter the age and size was being bullied, it was the most tasking thing ever, but so far so
good, I have had positive results. I sat back down.

"Or maybe, he had some family issues, or did not want to transfer here." Andrina said in a calming
tone. That was plausible anyway. I nodded, though I was not completely over it.

"Besides, did you see the guy, if anything he would be the bully.. I thought you said you saw him."
Sophie said, murmuring the last part.

"I did see him, but I was not paying attention, and he literally breezed past us." I defended.

"Then what did you see?"

"His grey cloth." I said confidently.

"Wait really?" Sophie asked. I couldn't identify the tone she used, but I nodded anyways.

"Care to look around you? He is not the only one wearing grey." Sophie said exasperated.

I winced, then taking in my surroundings, I see that most of the male population were actually wearing
grey, my eyes widened.

"Oh."

"Oh is right you were just worried about nothing." Sophie tells me.

I guess I was worrying for no reason, I shrugged. Just then the bell rang, and I got up, as I liked to be in
class early.

"I just remembered, the head chef wanted an audience with you." Andrina informs me.

I frowned, I was open to any body that needed help, but I hate when it got in the way of my studies.

"Okay, you guys go ahead, I'll catch up with you later." I say standing up. They nod, and head into the
throng of students leaving the cafeteria. And I head to the head chef's office, walking really fast and
hoping it ends soon.

As I walked, my eyes were focused on the ground, trying to remember the things I learnt today, a habit
of mine. Until I collided with the wall. I winced and fell back, the pain raced from my butt to my spine.

"Ow!" I Said rubbing my forehead and my butt.

"Can you focus on the road next time?" I heard a voice say. I looked up, my eyes widened. For I have
never seen someone so beautiful. His hair looked so shiny and soft, his lips were pink and plump. His

face had this boyish look, his nose was pointed, and his nostrils tiny. All my life, I was sure I have never
seen someone as perfect as he was.

"Get a grip, good heavens!" He exclaimed in annoyance before walking away. Leaving me on the floor,
with books as scattered around as my thoughts, and my mouth salivating, and my brain processing one
thought.

He was beautiful.
