Chapter 368: An Imperious Bully
Translator: Flying Lines
The hall echoed with the ringing sound.
Another person was coming to challenge Lin Xun?
All the attendees were distracted from their own business and turned attention to the threshold of the hall, bemused and perplexed.
A tall, perfectly-proportioned young woman walked in. She was the speaker. Dressed in a scarlet crane-feather cloak, she had a gorgeous exquisite face as cold as ice.
And her temperament was as fierce and intractable as a blazing flame. She gave the impression of being aggressive and haughty.
Hua Wuyou!
What did she come for?
As most people present recognized the newcomer quickly, they got tensed up.
Hua Wuyou was an outstanding figure from the younger generation of the Hua clan, one of the seven top aristocratic families. Last year, she was admitted to the Green-deer School with excellent grades.
By virtue of her incredible talent, it only took her one year to join the Inner Branch and became a student of the Martial Art Department of the school.
Being an arrogant and unapproachable bully, she made all her enemies pay a steep price for offending her, and people described her as a “raksasi” (a beautiful female demon who fed on human flesh).
The best-known example was how she treated a man who made a joke about her six months ago. That man came from an ordinary aristocratic family. He was nearly battered to death, and his cultivation narrowly escaped from being destroyed.
After that, she was nicknamed “raksasi.”
It was surprising that this “raksasi” should show up to bother Lin Xun, when the tumult brought by the Song cousins just subsided several minutes ago.
That was incomprehensibly bizarre! How come this man, who had deeply offended the descendants of the Song clan, should make enemies with Hua Wuyou, the fearsome raksasi from the Hua clan? He would be considered an enemy of these two high-class aristocratic families!
Ordinary practitioners would probably become too scared to fall asleep if they offended either one of the two influential families, but Lin Xun successfully provoked both families in one go. Who could believe it?
And now the point was that offending Hua Wuyou would be much more serious than offending Song Chonghe, because of her exalted position as well her ruthless character.
“Sister, it’s him!”
A man said in an angry tone, fixing Lin Xun with a menacing glare.
Nobody took notice of this well-dressed young man standing beside Hua Wuyou until now.
Obviously, he was soundly hit, with a face beaten black and blue and ruffled hair. There were blood stains all over his clothes, making him look wretched.
This young man was Hua Wuhen.
His presence accounted for why Hua Wuyou was coming for Lin Xun. It was because Lin Xun had beat up her younger brother!
In the meantime, Lin Xuefeng’s face turned pale when Hua Wuhen came stomping in with her brother, calling the name of Lin Xun.
The avengers from the Hua clan came unexpectedly quick! And it was surprising that Hua Wuhen, who had just been badly injured, should rush here to pay them back for the insult without regard for his wretched appearance.
He felt guilty and full of remorse, for Lin Xun would not have got entangled in the trouble if he didn’t offer to help him.
“So, you are Lin Xun?”
Hua Wuyou fixed her bright eyes at Lin Xun, and her icy face assumed a look of malice.
Thwack!
She didn’t move a finger but a fiery red whip suddenly cracked in the air as a flash of lightning, coming towards Lin Xun with horrible strength.
The target was Lin Xun’s head!
The attack was as swift and powerful as thunderbolt, as if launched to conquer and destroy everything.
How horrifying the hit was! And how aggressive the woman was!
The first thing she did after walking into the hall was to kill Lin Xun with her whip. It seemed to her that nobody else was present but her enemy.
What kind of person can be called a bully?
Just look at her!
This attack fully demonstrated how apt her nickname “raksasi” was.
The whip almost struck Lin Xun before people had time to react. Unprepared for the attack, Lin Xun could do nothing but reached out his fist to withstand it.
A deafening sound of explosion rang out as the vacant space in front of Lin Xun collapsed and the side table got completely shattered. He was also pushed back and staggered under the force.
Lin Xun blocked the deadly attack, which caused a bleeding gash on his right hand. The cut was so deep that even his bone could be vaguely seen.
And his entire right arm was in a sharp pain. Without his exceptionally tough constitution, his arm could have been paralyzed by this attack!
Lin Xun’s face darkened instantly and a dangerous glint appeared in his eyes. He didn’t expect that this woman could behave so ruthlessly!
The other attendees got startled by her vicious attack as well.
Hua Wuyou gave a small frown and assumed a look of slight surprise, which was quickly switched to a cold sneer, “You are better than I expect. No wonder you have the guts to bully my younger brother in public. But unfortunately, you have to die today. “
Thwack!
Her voice had hardly faded away when she landed another blow. The whip, shining blindingly, shot towards Lin Xun like a red lightning, smashing the vacant space and producing great bangs.
It could be seen clearly, from this impressive attack, that Hua Wuyou far outstripped Song Chonghe and Song Zhe in terms of her fighting capacity.
Staring maliciously at the scene, Hua Yuhen was filled with excitement and exaltation of triumph. He turned to Hua Wuyou, his second elder sister for help because he knew nobody but she would revenge him without scruple.
“You’ve gone too far, Hua Wuyou.”
In a fury, Shi Yu moved before the whip hit Lin Xun. Holding his bronze mace, he rushed forward.
Ning Meng moved almost simultaneously. His bulky figure dashed towards Hua, ready to give her a powerful punch.
Shi and Ning reacted swiftly, and yet someone was even quicker.
Clang!
It was Bai Lingshi! Instead of sitting there quietly, she rose and pointed her spirit sword at Hua Wuyou. The white sword she held was nearly transparent, with the twinkle of stars gleaming at the point, emitting a burst of mighty sword light.
“Huh!”
Hua Wuyou jeered as she intensified the attack! The fiery red whip danced in the air and produced a sequence of sharp explosive sounds.
The bronze mace of Shi Yu fell to the ground
The attack from Ning Meng was blocked.
Even the starry light spurted from Bai Lingshi’s sword was dispersed.
Trapped by three outstanding practitioners, Hua Wuyou didn’t show a hint of fear, and successfully resisted all the attacks.
However, she stumbled a little after this, and her face turned reddish.
Anyway, Hua was not at a disadvantage even when she alone fought against these three persons. This fact appalled a lot of people.
Of course, nobody was absolutely sure whether Shi Yu, Ning Meng and Bai Lingshi had shown their real strength, but this would not change the fact that Hua Wuyou had extraordinary fighting capacity.
Bai Lingshi also gave an awesome display of wielding sword. The gleam of the blade as it flashed through the air looked stunning, just like the sparkle of a shooting star.
More importantly, she stuck up for Lin Xun once again!
Zhao Yin’s brow furrowed in displeasure. He found that Bai had helped Lin Xun several times. So what was going on between them?
“Hua Wuyou, I am the host of the feast. You intrude on my place without permission and even intend to kill my guests. Do you think this is your house where you can do anything you like?”
Shi Yu said frigidly, putting his hands behind his back. He didn’t even try to conceal his anger.
“I have my reason for killing him, but I don’t think I have to explain it to you.”
Hua Wuyou replied in an indifferent manner. Her gaze swept dismissively round the hall and fixed on Lai Lingshi for a while in the end.
Then she turned her attention to Lin Xun, saying, “A chance for you. Come to the Tianwu Arena in the Forbidden City three days later and I will be there waiting for you. If you don’t show up, I will destroy everything you have whatever the cost.”
Apparently, Hua Wuyou had little opportunity to kill Lin Xun under this circumstance and she knew that. Thus she quit promptly and mounted this challenge.
Having finished her words, she turned around and strode off without any hesitation, followed by her brother who left unwillingly.
“You are going to leave now?”
Shi Yu asked as his face darkened.
“Or you want me to stay longer?”
Hua Wuyou asked back without turning her head.
“Bitch, how dare you act like this!”
Ning Meng yelled angrily.
“What if I insist on keeping you here?”
Shi Yu said, fairly beside himself with rage. Lin Xun stopped his friends from keeping tangling with Hua Wuyou, “Let them go. I will handle this on my own.”
His face remained calm, his deep eyes were as tranquil as flat sea, only his voice conveyed his ruthless determination.
After an exchange of glances, Shi Yu and Ning Meng let out a sigh and kept silent.
Lin Xun’s reaction was not surprising for Hua Wuyou. Her lips curved into a sneering smile and she immediately walked out of their sight together with his brother.
This woman appeared suddenly and disappeared like the wind. She directly attacked Lin Xun upon arrival and withdrew decisively when the tide turned against her. It seemed that she could do whatever she wanted!
At the thought of this bully, Shi Yu’s face clouded with annoyance.
“I am sorry but the dinner has to come to an end. We may have a feast some other day.” Shi Yu said. The successive accidents upset him and thus he was in no mood for carrying on with the feast.
The attendees looked at one another in dismay, excused themselves and left one after another.
They were aware that the evening had been spoiled by these incidents and it was pointless to keep staying here.
Most seats became vacant soon, and Bai Lingshi also rose to leave.
Astonishingly, she left without saying another word to Lin Xun, as if what she did had more to do with indignation than with the particular person, namely Lin Xun.
Anyway, it was unusual for her to do so, which naturally led to people’s speculation.
Following at her heels, Zhao Yin also made his departure after saying to Lin Xun, “Lingshi had a deep sense of justice so she would not stand by and allow innocent people to be bullied. Don’t think too much about it and feel uneasy.”
It was hard to tell whether his words had unspoken implication. Finally, casting a meaningful glance at Lin Xun, Zhao Yin floated away.
“Oh, Childe Zhao is telling you to stay away from Bai Lingshi, if you don’t want to infuriate him.”
Ning Meng laughed wryly.
Since all the attendees had left except them, he put it quite straightforward.
