Chapter 803: Inside and Outside the Well

Translator: Nyoi-Bo Studio Editor: Nyoi-Bo Studio
The All in One was a sword, but it was also a Cultivation state.
It was the highest Cultivation state at the Green Mountain Sword Sect. Using all the objects in the world as swords was a higher state than the Contained Heaven and Earth State.
Jian Xilai had figured out this high state of sword work because of his unimaginably high talent in the sword work, but he had never thought that it could be taken down so easily.
Even though he had encountered Jing Jiu’s All in One Sword in Dayuan City, his sword work was not taken down by Jing Jiu.
So how did this person, General Li, take down his All in One Sword by extending his hand casually?
An expression of disbelief showed on his face as Jian Xilai asked, “Who..who are you?”
General Li laughed out, “You performed well.”
As soon as he said this, hundreds of laser beams shot out from the battleship, illuminating the dim ground of the Planet Lindeng.
And at that same moment, more weapons of various sorts started attacking Jian Xilai.
The dreadful whistling sound was mixed with thunderous booms; the solid rocky ground seemed to have been torn apart, a large amount of smoke and dust rising up.
Two figures that looked like two sword lights were rather conspicuous against such a chaotic heaven and earth. They traveled among the laser beams and explosions at an extremely high speed.
After a long while, the barrage of laser beams had finally ceased for a while; and the long-range missiles that could produce dreadful explosions had stopped lunching.
Countless holes appeared on the black ground, holes even deeper than those mining pits. The hot steam drifted up from the edges of the deep holes, blown to the other places by the cold wind.
The night wind was parted by the sword lights as two figures materialized, facing each other on the opposite sides of a huge rocky pit.
Sizzling!!! Sizzling!!! Sizzling!!!
Thousands of holes appeared on the overalls, and the wounds could be seen all over Jian Xilai’s body; but the expression on his face was as nonchalant as ever, as if he couldn’t sense the pain, even though he felt a bit baffled at the moment.
“You’re not from the Green Mountain Sect, right?” he asked General Li who stood on the other side of the huge pit.
Jian Xilai had been acting like a disciple of Green Mountain that day. As such, when General Li claimed that he would test Jian Xilai on behalf of heaven, he asked General Li, “Do you have a death wish?” And he employed the All in One Sword without hesitation. It was because he believed he had figured out the identity of his opponent. What he did was deceive his opponent to reduce his alertness so he could mount a sudden counterattack to defeat his opponent. What he didn’t expect was that General Li had guessed his intent from the very beginning, making full use of his deception to mount an unexpected attack.
General Li didn’t respond to his question.
Jian Xilai didn’t press him again. “Even if you are, how can you be sure that you will be able to beat me?” asked Jian Xilai expressionlessly.
The distant dim permanent star happened to situate behind Jian Xilai, rendering a clear profile of his body.
No sooner had Jian Xilai finished talking than a great many golden energies emerged from his body like mist and dew, exuding a pure fairy intent.
General Li praised, “Your talent in Cultivation is truly remarkable now that you have cultivated so much fairy energy within merely several dozen days.”
“Cultivation is after all one’s own business,” said Jian Xilai. “Even though you have ascended many years before me, you might not be a match for me.”
General Li remarked, “The younger guys like you who have just broken through the cocoons fail to understand one principle: Cultivation is one’s own business in Chaotian, not here.”
A buzzing sound suddenly rang out on the quiet ground, meaning that something was vibrating at a high speed.
The battleship had drawn nearer.
Yet, the laser guns showed no signs of firing.
Whoosh!!!
Jian Xilai disappeared from the original spot and materialized in front of General Li instantly. He thrust a seemingly simple fist punch toward the face of General Li.
The fist contained a great deal of fairy energy, traveling at an unimaginably fast speed with countless formidable sword lights.
In fact, it was a sword of condensed and pure fairy energy.
Both had similar levels of sword work, but one had the help of a battleship. If Jian Xilai was to leave the place alive, he would have to fight and finish the battle as soon as possible.
If he intended to compete with his opponent in strength, Jian Xilai had no choice but to rely on that much fairy energy.
The whooshing sounds grew more intense.
As the fist-like fairy sword was about to hit the face of General Li, the sound suddenly ceased.
The entirety of Lindeng seemed to have become quiet.
The red overcoat was ruffling slightly.
A small device could be seen vaguely at the waist of General Li.
A great deal of light and heat generated from it.
It looked like a sun.
The red overcoat seemed transparent when it was illuminated by it.
The light and heat entered the body of General Li.
He raised his right hand and caught Jian Xilai’s fist easily.
Pah!!!
The ground the area of thirty square kilometers started to quake violently, countless ores flying into the air.
An expression of disbelief showed in Jian Xilai’s eyes.
It was true emotion this time.
General Li said to him calmly, “This here? This is the true strength.”
Soon after, the shoulder of the overalls Jian Xilai wore had a straight crack, which was also invaded by a vague sword will.
His sleeve drifted up.
The only arm of his had left his body. It turned into countless light specks before it could land on the ground, spreading like the fireflies before they vanished without a trace.
Back in Chaotian, one of Jian Xilai’s arms was cut off by Liu Ci and Jing Jiu jointly.
He didn’t consider to repair the broken arm after he succeeded in ascension, and he didn’t expect his other arm to be broken off.
He said with a pale face, “Even if you ascended several thousand years before me, it’s still impossible for you to possess so much fairy energy.”
The red overcoat drifted down slowly.
“It’s the nuclear oven.”
General Li continued calmly, “That’s why you people are a bunch of frogs at the bottom of a well, knowing nothing about the principle of combining heaven and people.”
After a moment of silence, Jian Xilai remarked, “Looks like the path I’ve chosen is indeed dubious.”
If he hadn’t spent the entire time trying to control the weapon system of the Planet Lindeng and communicate with the heaven and earth in this world, would he have found the method of using the nuclear oven to provide the fairy energy after spending more time on learning the more advanced knowledge?
General Li asked, “Do you have any last words?”
“Do you know who I am?” Jian Xilai asked the question again.
“I knew your identity when I saw the All in One,” said General Li. “The test is meaningless already. The rumored Godly Swordsman of West Ocean is an aloof, thick and lonely guy, and is not helpful to our cause.”
Jian Xilai realized that his opponent had found out who he was and that pretending to be a disciple of Green Mountain didn’t work of course.
Yet, why did his opponent know his identity?
He was certain that Chaotian was a peculiar region in the universe.
It was exceedingly hard for any ascendant to come back after they returned to Chaotian, like the disgraced fairy man on the Disgraced Immortal Island and the Ancestor Bai.
As far as he knew, Jing Jiu was the only one who had ascended twice since the ancient times.
This ascendant, General Li, shouldn’t have returned to Chaotian, so why did he know who Jian Xilai was?
Next, he asked another question before his death, “How did you find me?”
He had been keeping a low profile and didn’t make any fuss after he came to the Planet Lindeng with the mining spaceship. And he hadn’t done anything suspicious save for disguising himself a disabled worker. He believed in his kill in computing and thought that even those rumored Cloud Ghosts couldn’t discover his counterfeited right of authority in the networks.
“I offer you friendly advice if you can wake up.”
General Li went on, “Don’t go online. You will be discovered once you get online.”
“This world is very large though,” said Jian Xilai while staring into his eyes.
General Li said, “Everything is under our control.”
Having said that, General Li hit Jian Xilai’s head with his palm.
Pah!!!
Jian Xilai’s face turned pale; a pained expression showed in the deep ends of his eyes. A large amount of fairy energy came out from his broken arm and went back to his body through his mouth and nose.
“We’re both Cultivation practitioners. You should have killed me,” said Jian Xilai in a slightly trembling voice while staring into the eyes of General Li. “You shouldn’t do this to me.”
“Your talent in Cultivation and fighting prowess are quite outstanding. Killing you would be a pity.”
General Li continued softly, “Unfortunately, I know that you won’t be loyal to anyone based on your temperament. I have no choice but to do this.”
Jian Xilai, a fairy man in such a high Cultivation state, could wield swords simply by summoning his will. Without both arms, he was almost as useless as a disabled man. However, this was not something General Li would take into consideration.
“Will someone like you who is from an orthodox sect attempt to create a puppet?”
Jian Xilai suppressed the excruciating pain in his body and spiritual soul by means of his strong willpower. Though his nerve didn’t break down, his voice trembled more violently now.
“It’s not the method of puppet control, nor is it the method of tempering corpse,” said General Li. “…But it’s close.”

The battleship came to the sky above the mining town. The huge bulk of the battleship traveled through the atmosphere and pushed out a great deal of air, causing a strong wind.
A few men in military uniform came over while heaving a black metal case, looking like commissioners in the stories who collected the souls while carrying the coffins around.
Seeing the scene on the ground, they felt surprised.
General Li kept his palm on the head of his target.
Jian Xilai sat on the ground with his legs crossed, blood all over his body. The blood exuded specks of light which looked like gold and jade, full of pure fairy energy.
He closed his eyes tightly, his face pale. Every muscle in his body was twitching, indicating that he was in a great pain at the moment; but he didn’t give up resisting.
The men in military uniform didn’t dare utter a sound, standing silently in the distance.
As time went by, they felt more and more shocked.
They had carried out some similar tasks before; but they had never seen the scene in which the target could last for so long.
The attacker was none other than General Li himself. It could be easily imagined just how painful the penetration of the spiritual soul was. How could this person last so long? And why did he try his hardest to withstand it?
After a long while, General Li had finally moved his palm away from Jian Xilai’s head.
Jian Xilai’s body stopped trembling. The expression on his face, after a few eyelids fell off, grew calmer.
General Li looked at Jian Xilai quietly; it was unclear what he was thinking about. He waved his hand a few times after a long while.
The few soldiers felt relieved. They came over and put Jian Xilai into the metal case.
Some liquid was pumped into the case along with a faint pressure noise, followed by the rising white smoke.
The ores outside the metal case were covered with a thin layer of frost, looking much more brittle.
It was unclear if the liquid pumped into the black metal case submerging Jian Xilai was nitrogen or something else.
After the black metal case was filled with the extremely cold liquid, the few soldiers carried the case back to the battleship. As soon as the door of the battleship was closed, its engine let out a dim and cold blue flame along with a thunderous boom. The huge battleship took off and vanished into the space.
The wind on the surface of the planet didn’t cease until a long time later. Many new holes and shattered rocks were left behind on the ground.
It was believed that the human resource department of the mining town would find out that Jian Xilai was missing only a few days later.
And it was believed that the miners on this planet wouldn’t be able to find out who that disabled and decent worker was and what had happened to him.
