Nicole was starving.She picked up the cutlery and dug in without waiting for Jared.

"So good." Nicole smiled contentedly.

"Take it slowly.These are all yours."

Seeing Nicole so hungry, he could not bring himself to eat.

"What are you waiting for? Let's eat together."

Nicole was puzzled when she saw Jared not eating.

"Okay."

Other than Mr.Johnston Sr., who was lying on the hospital bed, they were the only persons left in the

"Jared, did something happen in the company? You left in such a hurry earlier."

"Nothing big deal.It was Henry who went to the office."

"Henry? What was he doing at the office?"

"He is the acting chairman now.So he was reporting to the company today."

"When did he become the acting chairman? Isn't your grandpa the chairman?"

Nicole looked at Jared with surprise.The baffled look in her eyes was unmistakable.

"The company has a rule that if the chairman can't carry out his duty, the board of directors will elect an
acting chairman," Jared explained to her.
