Chapter 586: The Shattered Sacred Meteor
Qin Feng bellowed angrily. He freed himself from the Black Dragon’s shackles with a tremendous source of energy.
Around them, snow mountains turned into magma and the flowing magma instantly melted the area into a plain. The place now looked like a boiling hot pot.
The horrific energy gushed out continuously from Qin Feng’s body. Even the mighty Z was blasted away by the force of the S-tier sacred stone.
Boom!
Poof!
Fizz!
The fizzling noise was still clearly heard after Qin Feng chased away the dark runes. Remnants of the meteor’s energy continued to rage in the surrounding.
The giant body of Z that obstructed the light was now gone. Qin Feng could finally see the sky above and snow mountains afar again.
‘Have I won? Is Z dead?’ Qin Feng was thrilled. He expanded his conscious energy and found nothing.
This was when the dispelled seawater once again rushed back.
“Hubby, be careful!” Bai Li exclaimed and immediately sheltered themselves with silver runes.
Under the impact of the dark runes, the silver box covering Qin Feng and Bai Li was like a small boat in the middle of a raging sea. They were instantly carried by the wave to a few hundred meters away from the magma pool.
Qin Feng had completely lost control of the magma. It was now just a dead pool of magma formed through the leftover energy of the Sacred Flame Meteor.
In other words, Qin Feng had exhausted the Sacred Meteor in the previous attack.
From the dark, invisible forces began to grab on the silver box protecting Qin Feng and Bai Li.
Shadow Bind!
Qing Feng immediately recognized the ability.
Bai Li’s spatial technique was not a common ability. The fact that the Shadow Bind technique could hold onto the barrier made of spatial energy suggested that the skill was used by a high-tier ability user.
Qin Feng’s heart sank. It was not difficult to guess who this high-tier ability user might be.
Within the darkness, a figure slowly emerged. It was none other than Z.
Z’s eyes were still perceptive as always as he looked at them emotionlessly. Qin Feng was baffled to find that despite the deep cuts on his hands and necks, no blood was seen flowing out from the wound.
It made Z creepier than ever.
Z was obviously enraged. But the angrier he was, the calmer he became. His killing intent was especially daunting.
He did not speak a word but the dark runes around Qin Feng and Bai Li continued to press the silver box.
Crack! Crack!
Slowly, the silver spatial runes were being crushed. Z did not even move a finger.
“Ah!!!” Bai Li could not help but exclaim.
“Asteroid Assimilation!”
Qin Feng’s internal strength flowed rapidly and formed a Qi armor around them as soon as Bai Li’s spatial runes were destroyed.
However, the internal force shield did not fare any better than Bai Li’s spatial ability.
‘Fine! F*ck this! Let’s fight the hell out.’
Qin Feng had no idea whether Z was injured or how much power he still had in store. But he knew he could no longer back down at this stage.
A whirlpool of energy was seen spinning in between Qin Feng’s eyes.
Other than Sacred Flame Meteor, Qin Feng had another S-tier stone in his possession, which was the Hell Stone. This was known by some tribes as the sacred stone of dark power.
Qin Feng would have no use of the stone if he was killed today. He would not think twice to destroy the Hell Stone too after he had lost the Sacred Meteor. If the power were strong enough to kill Z, perhaps the power core of Z would instantly upgrade him into B-tier.
‘I will kill you here even if it costs me my life!’
“Ability, Absorb!”
Qin Feng fully activated his innate ability—the power to absorb everything in this world!
The next moment, the dark runes around him turned into sea waves that suppressed the force currently drowning him. These waves then thinned into a thread that penetrated through the internal force shield and fused in between Qin Feng’s eyebrows.
The dark runes that were allowed into the shield were energy that Qin Feng had tamed and could assimilate.
It was the only way Qin Feng could stop the attack now. His diamond starglobe spun frantically under the help of the Hell Stone, which maximized his absorption ability.
In Qin Feng’s conscious realm, the size of the Hell Stone was shrinking fast. Normally, Qin Feng’s ability would not be able to digest the sea of dark runes at such a rapid rate. However, his ability had been amplified drastically at the expense of the Hell Stone.
It was like how the Sacred Flame Meteor could strengthen the Fire Wall by tens or hundreds of folds.
The depletion of the Hell Stone allowed the runes approaching Qin Feng to be absorbed into his consciousness without limitation.
Qin Feng’s starglobe was densely packed with dark runes.
‘What is happening!’
Z, who was infuriated, was stunned by the development. He was once again surprised by Qin Feng.
The dark runes released by Z were powers that he had been amassing for the past hundreds of years. If Qin Feng continued to absorb the runes, it would be no different from how Qin Feng had used Asteroid Assimilation to rob others’ internal strength.
Z would not allow that to happen. “Dispel!” Z had no choice but to relieve the attack.
The dark runes reversed and returned into Z’s body. Nonetheless, part of it had inevitably gushed into Qin Feng’s mind.
“Arghhhhh!” Qin Feng groaned in pain. It was like his head was about to explode.
Such an aberrant absorption of dark force had gone beyond the starglobe’s endurance.
“Hubby! Qin Feng! Please don’t scare me! Get a hold of yourself!” Bai Li panicked and could not do anything to help. She resented the fact that she was not a B-tier beast emperor or A-tier beast god. The enemy would have been long defeated if that were the case.
Qin Feng had completely lost the ability to fight at the moment. He put his life on the line to stop the ferocious attack.
But was that the end of Z’s attack? Of course not.
Z raised his hand again with a great power surging through.
A dragon claw then appeared out of thin air.
The claw was similar to Qin Feng’s secret technique, Dragon Slam. It also resembled the giant claw of the Black Dragon earlier, only at a smaller scale.
However, the claw moved way faster and they had no place to hide.
“No!” Bai Li cried out. A band of silver light appeared on top of her and split into a rift. The dragon claw was promptly sent into another dimension.
But Bai Li had miscalculated. One of the claw’s nails was cut off by the rift and landed heavily on her.
Bai Li raised both of her hands and the Lesser Gauntlet protected her front.
Pop!
The Lesser Gauntlet shattered upon impact!
It was life-and-death! The situation could not be direr.
