Jiang Fei sighed. There was nothing that he could say to dissuade Han Tianyu from staying behind as he was doing it to help his cause. However, him agreeing to stay behind, to take endure more torture and manipulation by Qin Tian had reinforced Jiang Fei’s trust in Han Tianyu. Jiang Fei stayed for a little while, to discuss minute details about his plans and by the time he was done, a new day had dawned and Jiang Fei left the base, undetected.
“It is time for us to return to the other martial artists. I’m sure they are worried,” said Jiang Fei after Ariel and he was far away from the base.
“Alright. For the record, I think the plan will work,” said Ariel before teleporting into Japan, to the cave where they left.
It was halfway through the morning by the time Jiang Fei trekked back to the cave. There, he saw Bai Wanli pacing back and forth, worried and anxious.
“Brother Jiang Fei! You have returned! Where have you been? We are all worried sick!” cried Bai Wanli, his voice indicated relief. There was no way he could contact Jiang Fei even through the communicator Jiang Fei had given him because Jiang Fei had disabled it in order to infiltrate the military base.
Bai Wanli had all the reason to be afraid. He did not know that Jiang Fei had ventured back into China. He thought Jiang Fei was strolling around in Japan! When all the martial artists were cowering like frightened dogs after being bombarded by missiles, it was safe to assume that Jiang Fei might be targeted by them as well!
“I’ve stumbled across a minor obstacle. Nothing to worry about. Everything has been taken care of!” Jiang Fei snickered. He had no intention to explain his plan to the martial artists as their closed-minded attitude would never understand the depths of his scheme. They might even refuse to cooperate!
“How is the reinforcements? Have you had any information about them?” Granny Jinghua asked. It was, by far, the most important news that everyone wanted to know.
“Soon. Very soon. In fact, they were getting their troops lined up and ready. They should be arriving in one or two more days!” said Jiang Fei. It was Han Tianyu’s plan. If Jiang Fei wanted to force the military to send in their Androids, Jiang Fei would need to somehow create a big fight between the martial artists and the Mutants.
“I know that I’ve just returned but I need to go out again,” said Jiang Fei.
“Again? Where are you going now?” Bai Wanli huffed.
“I’m going to find the Mutants,” said Jiang Fei, decisively.
“Hmmm… Be careful out there,” Bai Wanli gave his advise and left him be. Although he sounded worried, Bai Wanli and the other martial artists knew just how strong Jiang Fei was. They were not at all worried about his safety, merely their own.
Jiang Fei needed to go out once more to start the plan. He needed the fight to start. Even though the martial artists would gladly fight them head-on, the Mutants would not. They had no reason to.
The Mutants had the terrain advantage. Not only did they have eyes in the skies—technology provided by the American naval fleet—they would not need to move an inch to destroy the martial artists. A simple bombardment of missiles should do the trick.
Currently, the Mutants were on a chasing spree. They were chasing after the Soaring Cloud Sect that was split into two groups. The others were hidden away by Jiang Fei.
Jiang Fei left the cave with Ariel and with her powers of instant teleportation, Jiang Fei covered the entirety of Japan in a single day. When he was done, the sun had set and the moon was up.
“Did you find any of them?” Bai Wanli was the first to ask.
“Yes, I did. I’ve found a few smaller divisions but not the main group. However, I do not need to worry about that. Sooner or later, they will come to us,” said Jiang Fei. He had not wasted the entire day for anything.
“Hmm. Our reinforcements are not here yet. There is no rush to find the enemy,” said Granny Jinghua.
“That’s right, there’s no reason for us to be the cannon fodders,” said Zhu Tianfei.
“Sigh…” Jiang Fei huffed disappointingly. Even though they were now taking the fight seriously, not willing to stand against the Mutants without making a few sacrifices was a headache.
Jiang Fei went ahead to talk to the other sect leaders as well as Hong Yu and the girls. When he was about to put the rest to sleep, 0541 chimed in.
“Captain, it is time for you to get back into the game,” said 0541.
Jiang Fei was annoyed at the fact that 0541 had been bugging him about playing the game more than often. However, Jiang Fei was cooperative since it would mean that 0541 was preparing something nice for him soon!
After assigning the lookout shifts, Jiang Fei sat down with his legs crossed over the other, like he was meditating and logged into the game.
“Guild master! You’re here!”
“The guild master is here!”
“It’s time, guys! Buckle up!”
…
When Jiang Fei entered the game, the guild channel burst alive.
The night when Jiang Fei infiltrated the military base to talk to Han Tianyu, the guild had went on their own to raid the Light Dragon Lair. However, they were all taken aback then they realize just how powerful Jiang Fei was. Because without him, they could not raid the dungeon in one go.
The monster at the entrance alone was a challenge for the entire guild. They were so strong and powerful that the entire party was wiped out three times! Even after the entrance monsters were defeated, the other monsters deeper inside the dungeons were strong but not to the point where the entire party would be killed.
Only when they had fought the first boss without Jiang Fei’s help, the entire guild realize that Jiang Fei was overpowered. On the first run with Jiang Fei, they had suffered the minimal amount of casualties that the boss could be defeated in a few short minutes. Without Jiang Fei, the party had managed to defeat the second boss but no matter how many times they tried, they could never get past the third boss.
To finish the dungeon run, the entire party had to sacrifice the dragon eggs. In the end, the party carried four dragon eggs into the final boss fight, greatly decreasing the boss’ prowess and allowing the party to defeat it.
The dungeon was cleared but the entire party had only managed to get four dragon eggs out. It was not a worthwhile raid since there were one hundred party members and only four pet eggs.
After the dungeon was cleared, everyone started to appreciate Jiang Fei more. They waited and waited for Jiang Fei to return to lead them into the Golden Dragon Lair!
That was why when he logged into the game, everyone was excited. Jiang Fei was a player that represented the epitome of power and strength! There was no dungeon that he cannot raid and no bosses that he could not kill!
