The Yu Garden people were dismissed, and Auntie Chen returned to her hometown; it was only then that Elder Mo came to know of the situation.
Xiao Ba said that Elder Mo had come to wait at the entrance of their building early in the morning to meet with Ji Nuan.
Ever since she saw Auntie Chen, Ji Nuan understood that she could not meet anyone else. Things had already reached an irreversible state; she could not take on anymore hurt.
Grandfather Mo, especially, was someone she could not meet.
Ji Nuan passed down the news that she did not wish to meet him. However, Elder Mo was stubborn and refused to leave. In the morning, the weather was blistering hot, but by afternoon, the sky was suddenly pouring heavily.
Xia Tian understood the reason why Ji Nuan was refusing to meet with the Elder and brought an umbrella down with Xiao Ba to block the rain for him.
By evening, the Elder was still waiting. In the end, Ji Nuan sent someone down with a delicately crafted ring box containing that round, blue diamond that had always been kept in her office drawer.
Seeing that she had even sent the blue diamond over, the Elder finally left. However, he did not take the ring with him and asked for it to be sent back to her.
Elder Mo left her with these words: “This old man has to live well. I’ll live until I’m hundred years old until you’re willing to see me again, Ji Brat. I’ll protect the position of our Mo family’s granddaughter-in-law for you. No one can think of stealing it.”
Ji Nuan did not wish to see Elder Mo because she feared that she wouldn’t be able to defend her heart.
However, even though she did not see him, the words he left behind still left her utterly defeated.
That night, Ji Nuan became extremely intoxicated alone in her hotel.
She did not look for anyone. Xia Tian, Xiao Ba, and all of her colleagues were clueless about her whereabouts. She left alone to a supermarket and purchased a lot of alcohol. Afterward, she even called for the supermarket to deliver even more alcohol to her hotel room.
This was a hotel that faced Ao Lan International and the Mo Corporation building. It was extremely tall and had a balcony.
She wore a long dress as she sat on the balcony, feeling the breeze. Her skirt swayed back and forth, and her feet followed. As she sat under Hai City’s night sky, her eyes shifted toward the eighteenth floor of Ao Lan International far away. Over there, not even a single light was turned on. Afterward, her gaze then carelessly shifted toward the highest floor of Mo Corporation. The lights there were turned off as well.
She felt that many memories were replaying through her mind like a movie. As they flashed through her head one by one, she felt as though she was gradually forgetting them.
She wasn’t sure how much she had drunk on that balcony. When it seemed like she could fall off from this place if she drank any further, she forced herself to stand up from the balcony and returned to her bed. She faced the white wall as she drank alone until it was late at night.
Afterward, she wasn’t sure how drunk she had become. She only knew that she fell asleep from intoxication.
She did not know how long she had been drunk or how long she had slept. Amidst her hotel stay, Ji Nuan received a call from Xia Tian. Xia Tian had heard that she was drinking and asked for her location. After hanging up, she did not call again, and considerately gave her time to be alone.
When she woke up, Ji Nuan continued drinking. She did not take even a mouthful of food and relied entirely on alcohol to spend her days.
Finally, when she could no longer drink, when even one more sip made her feel as though she would puke, she gathered all of the alcohol and tossed them in the trash. She then collapsed on the bed and slept.
By the time she was fully conscious, it was the morning of the third day.
Ji Nuan opened her eyes and looked toward the swaying curtains. She could see the sun rising high above the skies from the north. She got up and approached the balcony, watching all of the people who had woken up early to leave for work, watching all of the sights this world had to offer.
She stood in this manner for a long while before finally sobering up. She then returned to her room and tossed away all of the alcohol bottles. She took a bath, brushed her teeth, and cleaned herself from head to toe. She also washed away the alcohol stench on herself, changed into fresh, clean and comfortable clothing, and left.
As she stepped out of the hotel with her bag, she walked past a hair salon. Ji Nuan decided to enter and had her waist-length hair cut into a shoulder-length bob. When she stepped away from the hair salon, Ji Nuan ran her hand through her hair and recalled the words Feng Ling once told her.
It was indeed very comfortable after cutting her hair short. No matter what frustrations or worries she had, those were no longer important. What was most important now was that she was relaxed.
She went to a nearby vegetarian restaurant alone and had a filling breakfast. Afterward, she returned to the studio and resumed her usual work and life.

A week later, Mr. Zand took a special trip from England to discuss their corporation. Mr. Vinse, from BGY Group, was still interested in her. He hoped to hold her back and convince her to give up on leaving for England.
However, Ji Nuan still signed the contract with England’s side. The moment her name was signed on the contract, she was set to leave Hai City for at least two to three years. Mo Nuan Studio was to be temporarily handed over to Xia Tian.
However, Xia Tian insisted that she would only be a temporary replacement. She declared that if Ji Nuan dared not return in three years, she would bring the people from the finance department to pack up their things and leave with her. By then, not only would she lose her studio, even her best friend would have run away. There would be no one for her to cry to.
That was the way Xia Tian had threatened her.
Afterward, she began her preparations for the long term stay in England. Only Xiao Ba and several other interns who hoped to be able to gain some good experience decided to follow Ji Nuan. Xia Tian would lead all of the old veterans in their office to guard Mo Nuan Studio. Just like that, all of the arrangements were made.
“For the next three years, you truly don’t plan on returning?”
The day before the move to England, all of the colleagues in the studio had a dinner gathering.
Ji Nuan was on her period tonight and did not drink. Xia Tian had managed to ask for a hot water bottle from someone in the hotel and handed it to her. As she watched Ji Nuan press the hot water bottle against her abdomen, she sat by her side and casually asked.
“If Mr. Zand allows me to, of course, I will. But there’s a chance that I’ll be too busy with, and I won’t be able to carve time out. I can’t guarantee that I’ll definitely return,” Ji Nuan said.
“You’ll be leaving tomorrow. Do you truly not plan on bidding Mo Jingshen farewell?”
“There’s no farewell to bid.” Ji Nuan’s expression was indifferent and unaffected.
All of the words that had to be said were already spoken.
After signing the divorce agreement, Ji Nuan did not meet Mo Jingshen again. There was truly no need for it.
She had vaguely heard that there were some large movements in Shine Group recently. Mo Shaoze was taking frequent trips from Los Angeles to Hai City. The Western financial world and the Chinese business world were both discussing if Shine Group was about to shift onto someone else’s hands. They wondered if Mo Jingshen, the dark horse who was notorious abroad even when he located in Hai City, was about to take over Shine Group.
Everything seemed to be unfolding according to how things had once happened in her previous life. In the period preceding Mo Jingshen’s succession of the Shine Group, Mo Shaoze made a mistake in judgment and caused their stock prices to fall to a record low. Elder Mo and all of the other shareholders in the Mo family unanimously voted for Mo Jingshen to take over the Shine Group. The age where Shine Group belonged to Mo Shaoze also came to an end.
